Slime Play

You can make a slime box by using hand sanitizer or hair gel from the dollar tree!  Fill up a plastic shoe box with "slime" and then put in plastic bugs, frogs, dinosaurs, etc.  Have children use tongs to pull out the plastic toys.

Some people have tactile defensiveness, which means that their light touch systems can't tolerate things like tags in shirts, slime, gooey, cold temperatures, syrup or sticky objects, finger paints, etc. This stresses their bodies out and makes some of them even feel nauseous!

If this sounds like you or someone you know, there is help! Contact Center of Development OT for more info!
